We design experiences that encourage and empower young people to be active citizens by providing them with unique learning opportunities
Invite a veteran to your school to share personal testimony of 9/11 and the resulting wars and to share valuable lessons in leadership. These presentations can be formatted to fit the needs of your school, whether that be through small group discussions in classrooms or large assembly presentations.
Operation C.R.E.S.T. is an effort to provide young people with an opportunity to seek powerful leadership lessons of Courage, Resilience, Service, Empowerment, and Teamwork from America's veterans. Our first initiative within this program is a student-led podcast that preserves veteran stories for future generations and provides a platform for veterans to continue to serve their nation.
"Lines of Fire," our free set of six stand-alone lessons is designed around engaging classroom learning experiences and unforgettable primary source documents that help students make sense of September 11th and its effects through the eye witness accounts of troops, veterans, their families, and others. We have posted our "Lines of Fire" materials to a private Google Classroom space to allow teachers to customize resources for their students. This allows for opportunities to meet the specific needs of students through differentiation and personalization of our curricula. Join our Google Classroom space below
In keeping with our goals of providing memorable leadership opportunities for young people facilitated by America's veterans, our summer programs are immersive experiences that provide deep learning outcomes. We are piloting our summer program in July and August of 2023 and we plan to expand it to a wider audience in the summer of 2024. Stay tuned via our newsletter for updates.
